In the IT Industry, most work is done on contract which leads to a few problems:
*
IT/Development Companies significantly overestimate the contract. This happens
for several legitimate reasons. To name a couple, IT work can be considerably
time consuming and unforseen show stoppers can come along that are very costly.
IT companies must anticipate and prepare for this by building it into their price.
*
Customers come up with great ideas and improvements after an actual product is in use. What's wrong with great ideas? Nothing. The problem is when
dealing with a contracted product, trying to get changes and new ideas late in to the
developement cycle is often met with friction. Contracted work leaves little room for these improvements and this leaves customers feeling dissatisfied.
That leads us to our basis for design, development and IT solutions. We practice the
XP Development
model. Whereas traditional design and development
is resistant to changing the product, XP development expects change.
Real world development is a tweaking and modifying process of which customers should
be an integral part. We want to get the most usable piece of a solution in your
hands as quickly as possible, and improve from there.
